Is it worth getting the W40 if I usually listen to streams on spotify or Google music from my phone?

It looks like these have been updated to version 2 last month and that these are still version 1.

Review site states these version 1's are worse than the new version 2's:
https://twister6.com/2019/04/11/r...and-w80/4/ -> "soundstage being a little wider with SPC cable and mids/vocals sounding a little more revealing. Also, in this comparison SPC cable gives a perception of a blacker background" and hints that there are less microphonics which drive me crazy.

For the price it's great, but not as great a deal as I thought.

Too bad I have those ears that no earbuds can fit me comfortably or not slipping out. The only ones that I can wear are the Bose type that sits on the ears without poking into my ear canals.
Have you try using small comply foam tips? Squeeze it all the way down then insert into ear canal and let it expand. Comply/foam tips should fit smaller ear canals better but most people that aren't used to it just push it in like silicone tips. You have to treat it the same way as earplugs.

Amazing deal! I bought a USED W40 just a few months ago for $225 and thought it was a great deal. This is a STEAL! I also owned the W80 before, and it was honestly the best dynamic drive IEM I've ever used (only IEM better was the Shure KSE1500). It was better than the Noble Encore I had before, and MUCH more comfortable. Westone makes incredible IEM's, have a soothing warm sound signature and their IEM casing is the most comfortable universal IEM on the market. The Shure SE846 may have a more wow presentation with their bass, but the W80 was definitely a better overall IEM. Such as the case with the W40 and SE535, I've had the SE535 before as well and found the W40 to be more balanced and natural and much more comfortable to wear for extended lengths of time.
One thing, w80 is balanced armature not dynamic.

You're right, I was thinking of full sized headphones.

I have the same question. Triple Fi's are the best IEMs I've heard but I sold them because of really bad micro-phonics.
