Awesome. The Bass/Tele/Strat should have their own posts. I almost missed the strat deal.

The only difference I can find between the Standard Stratocaster and the Stratocaster Plus Top is just the flame maple top. It looks pretty sweet.

If I didn't already own an almost identical bass, I'd be on that one. Great job. Great deal.

yep, the only thing on the strat plus is the top. Most of the ones I've seen in this range have been pretty nice, except for the VERY first one I saw at GC a couple years ago.

Killer guitars at an almost used price here.

I got the Jazz Bass last time Iconian posted this deal and must say it's a great deal. Now I'm waiting for some Amplifier deals.

Could someone shed some light on why I should get this Strat over the Duo-Sonic?

$450 vs $320 is tough to justify. I know they're different instruments, but the only real differences I see are these: scale length, pickup configuration, and size/weight. Those all seem subjective. Is the Duo-Sonic as inferior as the price suggests?

Resale value will be much worse on the duo-sonic

Duo-sonic is not inferior, just a different product. It's a matter of taste and preference. The market for duo-sonic is definitely smaller than for strat/tele

Of course it's a laminate top. All flame/plus tops are. What would you expect it to be?

The duo-sonic is much, much smaller.

I have small hands, so thought that'd be a good thing. I didn't like the feel at all, and found it felt super cramped. Definitely not for someone who wears L or bigger size mens gloves.

The Strat has a floating (tremolo) bridge, while the Duo-Sonic is a hardtail.
