Bracing typically alters biomechanics, so may affect other joints, muscles, and connective tissue adversely. This is why only short-term bracing or use of joint supports like this one are recommended.

For example, say you have a lifting activity to complete and feel the need to wear knee supports. Wear the supports only during the brief lifting activity, and then immediately remove them. Don't wear them for hours on end. It may lead to muscle weakness or injury over the long haul.

Oh absolutely. Just think about it if you're not bending your knee the way you normally do your quads and especially your hamstrings can tighten up and pull on your lower back muscles...everything is connected. 💡

Question for anyone using these. I've used these twice for an extended period of time (6+ hours while performing tasks) and my lower back started hurting a couple hours in (not due to what I was doing). It seems this is connected but I'm not quite sure how.

Bought these last time. Very comfortable to wear and do a good job at stabilization. They're not bulky at all which is great. I plan to wear them on my backpacking trip. Definitely recommend
