People who subscribe to these, why?
I have felt Norton/McAfee antivirus has been redundant since windows 10/Windows defender really became prominent.
What are the benefits?

Friends don't let friends use McAfee.

It's absolutely terrible at detecting anything and hogs resources like no tomorrow.

mcafee may be effective at security and stable (to not crash Windows) but it's active scanning is SLOW and causes random pauses.

Go with another product. Save yourself the pain.

Founder, John McAfee has since sold the company

He even made this outrageous video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKgf5PaBzyg (NSFW - Not Safe For Work / 18+ )
