Awesome deal. I just purchased this from Best Buy a week ago at 700 and I'm very satisfied. Works flawlessly and has a fantastic picture.

Does the TCL have a way to turn off 'TruMotion' (aka "too real lookin' soap opera" effect) when you aren't watching sports (which is most of the time for me Smilie, unless the 'Iggles are on ).
I want my movies to look like movies Smilie (plus all these nicer looking tv shows like GoT/Westworld/TheExpanse).
I noticed alot of the models in the showrooms try to be photo-realistic with all the 'hummingbird flying in slowmotion' type clips they repeatedly play (Best Buy, to their credit, had Avengers i think on alot of the higher-end OLED models in a separate dark showroom).

all things being equal I'd still choose Roku over Android TV platform. I'm always switching inputs on the top to change streaming boxes.

But we found plenty to like in the 55H8F Android version. You won't get enough brightness for the full premium 4K experience with this model, but levels nearing 700 nits of peak brightness are excellent for this amount of money. The set does exhibit some blooming/haloing and artifacts like banding and image judder on some material, but the on-board processing kept this from being distracting for most content. https://hdguru.com/review-hisense...t-a-value/

Nice deal, got the same one when the Amazon deal for 700$ was around last week. TV has been incredible. Was nervous about the "dirty screen" but I did the tests and mine at least seems clean.
