Seems like a good deal for the price and specs. Slightly slower CPU than the Office Depot deal, but more RAM and storage plus Microsoft Office.

Can we discuss deal only? If you feel unsafe about Lenovo, don't buy it. but don't trash the deal with political preference.

It's possible to change out the screen, but you can only use "slim" screens without any mounting holes/slugs. It's not as easy as just popping off the bezel and changing the screen, but it's still not the hardest screen swap ever.

I looked up the service manual and you must first pop off the bezel, then disconnect the wifi cables/ eDP cable, unscrew the hinges (which should allow you to remove the whole upper lid from the bottom portion of the laptop), remove the 4 screws on the lower hinges (on the screen, 4 on each side, left and right), then remove the plastic cover on the bottom of the screen by pushing it to the right and upwards.

Finally, after all this, there will be two tabs on the bottom right and bottom left corner to pull out the adhesive behind the screen. It works much like pulling out an iphone battery, only difference being is that they use WAAAY more adhesive.

Would be a good deal if it had an IPS screen. I believe it cannot be charged via USB-C.

Damn this seems like a better deal than the Flex 14 from Lenovo the other day. 12GB of RAM instead of 16, but both are more than enough for a laptop with only integrated graphics, and this one has double the SSD storage and MS office.

2 things makes mind no to this. Screen is TN and it's not aluminum. It's is plastic with carbon fiber thread mix.
