I bought the 1510 last time at this price. I really like it. However, the foam inserts are just okay. They separate and come apart over time. I have purchased replacement foam without the perferated cuts, and am much happier with this. If you do use the included foam, I would recommend having plenty of space between each cutout (at least 1 1/2 inches). Just some advice. Otherwise, the case itself is incredible.

Here's the short answer from fredmiranda.com
The Pelican 1514 is just the 1510 w/ the 1515 padded divider set already included. The lid organizer for that case is the 1519. The 1514 should be cheaper than if you bought the 1510 and 1515 seperately because the 1510 comes with the pick-n-pluck foam, the 1514 eliminates the foam but adds the dividers.

I owned few dozen of these over the last 20 years and yes, I agree with 1.5" spread... Smilie

Were the replacements from Kaizen foam or somewhere else?

Give the padded dividers a try, they dont wear out like the foams.

Yes that is true, so I've been told. I was just speaking to the product for sale that I have actually tried if it helps with their purchasing experience. The foam inserts that I've replaced the pick and pluck foam have been much more reliable and rugged. But I would like to try the padded inserts in the future.

Anybody know the difference between the 1510 and the 1514? Info says they have the same specs.

Links seem to go to Adorama, but the description says B&H.

The knock-off cases at Harbor Freight are almost as good as Pelicans, but cost like 75% less.

I usually use fabric glue to glue the pieces together.

Yeah, I just got one. Pelicans are nicer but they are overpriced.
