Beware Buying or selling gift cards to CARDPOOL

I bought a $25 Einstein Bagel gift card and had $25 on my Einstein's card when I received it but when I just tried to use it for the first time I was told that it was rejected with the message 'card terminated'. I just spoke to Einstein's bagels corporate office and they said that someone had stolen the funds from this card and that this has happened quite often recently. I tried to contact CARDPOOL but they don't respond to voicemails or emails. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

On CARDPOOL's Facebook page there are numerous complaints about people not receiving gift cards, cash for cards, or fraudulent cards. Their prices are very good, most of the time they are on the up and up, but quite often they seem to be selling cards that they have received from shady characters - thus the good pricing.

Yes, I tried selling them Apple store gift cards .. many times.
A few of them were actually sold. Most of them never made it through the validation period, sometimes taking months! to get to that point.
Now it seems you cannot even sell Apple gift cards to them. Target electronics dept and some Kroger stores have Cardpool kiosks. I called a Kroger & they said they are discontinuing the Cardpool kiosk as it isn't working. Not surprised!

Edit: I called 3 different Kroger's, apparently the Cardpool machines have been removed from the store. So that option for selling cards seems gone! Please
