This has been sitting at $163.99 for a few weeks and I love it. The 16Gb kits (8x2) were just $79.99 recently too.

While the timings don't look amazing on paper, this stuff will go 3200MHz C14, which on a Ryzen 2xxx gaming rig is considered the holy grail of timings. It'll also push up toward 3700MHz at C14 with good cooling, which means it's great transition RAM on a system moving from a Ryzen 2xxx to 3xxx CPU later.

Note that its value comes from its ability to be tweaked. If you're going to apply the default XMP profile - 3600 C19 - this RAM isn't really a good option.

Are you sure you can hit 3200mhz @CAS14? 3600mhz with @CAS19 is pretty bad.

I got CAS15 on a Ryzen 1700, which is close enough.

I seriously doubt it as it is not samsung b-die. It might do ok with ryzen 3000 and x570.

I have this ram in my Threadripper setup and I think it's the root of my BSOD problems. Running XMP at 3600. Asus told me that the ram is not "compatible" and my pc recently failed my memory diagnostic test. :/ wanted it to work. This is a good price. I bought it for 250.

The OC nerds did a breakdown of this RAM, and it's considered a "cheap B-die competitor" on the Ryzen platform.

Hynix CJR is solid. Just built a system using 2 x 16 GB Patriot Viper 3200mhz dimms (Hynix CJR) and it's rock solid at 3200mhz on Ryzen 2700x. No errors in memory tests and my system has had no issues with stability. I know you're giving a little bit of performance up compared to B die but for most people it's not worth the money for a tiny bit of extra performance.
