KEF had Q150 speaker pair on sale at $299 in the past during different promotions. These are amazing speakers for the price and is an opportunity for those that may have missed the sale in the past. KEFdirect.com does not charge sales tax. Other websites like Amazon also have the same price point during this promotion, but charge sales tax.

I purchased all the speakers for my home theater set up from KEFdirect and they were pretty easy to work with, and no surprises.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

What?

House for $300,000, car for $300,000? No Problem.

How do they compare to the Q350? Is their image 'directional' just like the Q350?[/QUOTE

The Q150 speakers image extremely well - as in absolutely excellent imaging well beyond the norm for even the best at this price class. The sweet spot to experience that next level excellent imaging is fairly small - however they still sound really good off axis. In fact because I found them somewhat bright toed in (on axis) - I fired them straight ahead (so I was about 15% degrees off axis) and still really enjoyed the sound (and the sweet spot size increased a bit) I would say that they sound superb for what they are - top tier price class speakers that i ultimately did sell as I try a lot of speakers for fun and I did find them bright/metallic sounding when really judging them critically.
Uber detail is not as important to me as rich sound.

A downside to ordering from KEFdirect is returns - they charge return shipping and 15% restocking on open boxes. I don't think Amazon does.

Just bought a thx AAA 789 from massdrop I probably won't get it until August but from what I read it's supposed to be the best amp for $400 or lower if you add a dax

I have an analog SMSL 2x50W driving my Q150s and I'm pretty happy with the setup. Believe they have some USB options

I auditioned this set of speakers and was impressed, but ultimately went with the cheaper KEF Q100s which are front-ported. But both sets are excellent in their own right.

bought the Q150 during the last deal, excellent speaker with wonderful clarity. Set them up in my home office. They are rear ported so shouldn't be placed directly against the wall, they do come with port plugs though.

One drawback is they do not come with speaker grilles. you have to pay extra for those.
