This was on my AmEx Everyday Card. YMMV, as I see earlier posts that the discounts may vary.

Gap (20% off):
  • $10 - 800 points
  • $25 - 2000 points
  • $50 - 4000 points
  • $100 - 8000 points
Home Depot (20% off):
  • $25 - 2000 points
  • $35 - 2800 points
  • $50 - 4000 points
  • $100 - 8000 points
  • $500 - 40000 points
  • $1000 - 80000 points
Offer must be redeemed between 6/3/19 and 7/31/19.

iTunes (20% from before, but not 1:100 redemption):
  • $10 - 941 points (was 1176 points)
  • $25 - 2353 points (was 2941 points)
  • $50 - 4706 points (was 5882 points)

Care to elaborate? I have a shit ton of points but never know what to use it for. Saw a lot of ppl transfer to travel but I do almost no personal travel... so end up getting discounted gift cards.

Same, and if I do travel on airlines I have status on I only get 1cent an MR point. The Home Depot deal at 1.25cents an MR point is pretty decent for buying stuff.

Here's an article on point values:

Same here. I have over 420k points and don't travel. I buy gift cards when discounted and sell them. Its better than using them towards purchases.

If you don't travel then I guess gift cards is a decent redemption but if you do travel then this is a bad idea. I usually transfer all my points to airline partners and travel business class because I can never afford those tickets on my money! That way you can get an amazing value out of points.

Doing at 1 cent is not right..if you travel business/first class then you get at-least 3-4 cent value out of those and even more depending how well you time your travel.

Basically people use MR points for first / business class international air travel which ends up valuing the points at 3-6 cents per point. What they don't factor is that a bigger seat, less crappy meal, and a stuffy lounge is actually worth very little and is just a marketing ploy by airlines. Suddenly everyone is 6' 6" to justify burning 300k points for a flight.

Same issue, no travel for me so this is a good deal.
also, some ppl like to use points for business class travel and impute the value based on actual business class ticket prices so the value seems 3-4 cents per MR or more

At what amount of points does this sort of travel redemption become possible? I have looked into travel with AmEx points but haven't ever found an exchange that I can do. Is it only useful on business/first class? If so, to where?

Thanks!

I transferred my points to air Canada and used my points on Swiss airline to travel to India for 160k points round trip per person. Things might have changed a little now but not a lot.
It makes sense on business because those tickets are insane on $ and not everyone can afford.
