I didn't see this posted with these Clearance prices so I decided to share. I was in my local Home Depot and noticed these marked down on an end cap.

Secondary Speaker - $15.03

Speaker Set - $38.03

Brickseek shows "Clearance" as the price for both items at my local store. Several other Home Depot locations around me (NYC area) still have them in stock and marked as "Clearance" on Brickseek.

Anyone have or try these and the boom box? Which sounds better?

I got a set of 3 for $50 last time this clearance deal came up and if you come into this knowing the sound quality is just so-so, the benefit of having 3+ speakers synced up within a 150 ft range is very cool for outdoor use.

I have both, honestly I would get a set of 3 over the Boombox if you have enough batteries to power them all.

To me the sound quality isn't all that different between them.

Shows "clearance " as the price for me too. Will definitely swing by today and see what they ring up as.

These speakers are fantastic. Right now I have one in my shed/bar and the other on the other side of the yard- great for parties. Would definitely like to add another speaker or 2.

I would say it's a toss up on how you're going to use them. I own the boom box and my FIL has the speaker set. The Score set are far and away better sound quality. But the boom box can't be beat for job site easy. I'm just a DIYer, and I love bringing my boom box with me where ever I'm working around the house/yard. My FIL is a pro and his Score set stay in his shop. If they move, he'll bring them on the boat if enough people are out for the day.

These have been on clearance at my local home depot for 6-8 weeks.
I picked up a full set of 5 units, the max you can link. (Primary + 4 remotes)

The big benefit over the boombox is that you can play them at a low volume and still here them everywhere. Picture doing electrical or plumbing work at a job site, which requires multiple rooms and floors.

With a boombox you have to crank the volume up high to here it throughout the whole area. Near the box it's too loud, and further away, it's still quiet.

With the score system you can control the volume of each unit independently, and listen at a low enough volume that a team working together can all hear what's playing and still converse with each other, without having to shout.

Just so everyone knows, these will -not- work together if you use an aux cable. They can only be synced w/ a digital signal, so bluetooth. Was going to get some but this killed it for me.

How'd you find 5 co-workers who like the same music? Smilie

According to the website description, it does not come with a battery--just an AC power adapter.
