I was in Home Depot and they are setting up a display for a 15" trimmer and 530 cfm combo for only 249.99. It's a sweet deal compared to their Memorial Day event.

eGo support is pretty good. I had already registered the bad battery from the hedger so well under 3yr warranty. Took one email with proof of purchase and new one is on the way. I hate calling for support but it wasn't too bad, just left a call back number. Challenge was finding my receipts for three different tools and batteries. They don't even want the bad battery back, said HD will recycle it for me. But I'm tempted to open up for the AA cells.

Anyone know if you can use the 10% off HD coupon and the 20 off?
It depends on HD associate. Few location accept few do not so YMMV

Is it cheaper to buy a tool with the 5.0 battery than the battery alone? Almost looks like I buy the battery and the tool is deeply discounted... at least that's what I'll tell my wife!

What Hedge trimmer do you have? I have the weed eater and the blower, but have cut 3 electrical cords by accident in the last 4 years so I'm looking to get away from corded hedge trimmers (side note, in my 20+ years of cutting hedges before then, I've never cut a cord, I blame my 5 year old for making me go full retard).
EGO HT2410. Not to be confused with the HT2400. I grabbed the bare tool since I have two batteries already. They charge so fast that I never run out of juice before my project is done.

also be sure to grab some oil for your trimmer. Always lube your tool... !

Not going to make a new SD thread for this since there is only one left (I bought the other 2) but I have an eBay alert for ego batteries and this just got listed

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/...3255520794

2.5 battery new from a reputable seller it's a pawn shop in Philadelphia. With 13% eBay bucks comes out to $73.08 shipped so over half off. Mine already shipped.

that could be the bare stick model that has cheapo spool. You want the Rapid Load, I like it better than the Power Loader.
The ST1500SF [homedepot.com] (like the ST1502SF) shows that it has a Rapid Reload Head. As such, that's a good one then?

yes that is the good bare stick, don't get the $99 bare tool, it's a toy. This one for $129 appears to have the same Rapid Reload that works great.

Check out the deal on 2.0 Ah Battery $33 on SD, I didn't even know they made them. https://slickdeals.net/f/13149940-56-volt-2-0-ah-battery-33-at-home-depot-ymmv I have three 2.5 that work great on several lawns a week.

Is this a great deal at $199? Both of my local Home Depots have this for $199 right now. Pics are attached. On the one, you can even see the sticker on the side that previously indicated the higher price.

I am trying to decide between this and the Ryobi 40V system.

At $200 I jumped on it. The price is also available online (link [homedepot.com]). From the discussion on this thread and elsewhere on the site it seems that $250 was a decent price, but only one battery is pretty limiting so it only made sense for people that already had other Ego tools and batteries.

I haven't tried any of the Ryobi 40V tools myself, but all the reviews I've read say that they're not great. Compared to similar Ego tools, reviews say that Ryboi tools are underpowered, have a shorter run time, and the batteries will take a lot longer to charge.

if that is the Rapid Reload string head (yes from link above, it's the RR model) then yes! I'm tempted to return my CF trimmer for this bundle. I could use another blower, one for each hand. Again the limiting factor is only one battery but hey it's $50 more off.

The issue for me is that I have several attachments already from a gas system that will work with the Ryobi.

I think you're right that they are less powerful and longer recharge time.
