I was waiting for this to drop down to $200 again so I can grab a pair. Based on reviews on newegg for this monitor and the reviews on Amazon for the LG 32" models that have been on sale for similar prices in the last 2 months, the Acer seems to be the better choice for me.

For anyone curious, I'm upgrading from a single Dell 23" IPS monitor that I've had for years. I have a keyboard tray on my desk so I sit very far from the monitor (32") and it isn't enough anymore. I multitask far more now and figured it'll be better to match the monitors than to have 2 different resolutions. I'll be driving them with a GTX 960 over display port cables. I plan on mounting them on arms, but not sure which yet. First, I'm going to test on my existing arm which is rated for up to 27" monitors and 22 lbs. Then, I'll order another if it works or find something else rated for larger monitors if needed.

The only concern I have is whether they'll arrive with any dead pixels.

I got this on one of the slickdeal $200 sales way back. Was an upgrade from my 24" 1080p TN panel. It is a beautiful panel, but took sometime for sure for my eyes to adjust to it as it is huge in comparison. And really really bright. I had to turn the brightness down a ton as my eyes were hurting after gaming a couple hours on it. To the point I almost returned it, but lowering the brightness fixed and havn't had any issues since. Came with no dead pixels and can boost to 75hz in display settings. Best monitor hands down for the money.

Good deal. I had passed on some of the other LG deals posted recently because the Activesync is known to only work via HDMI (not DP) and therefore would not be G-Sync compatible. My understanding is that this one is G-Sync compatible. Solid pickup for 1440p, 75hz w/ adaptive refresh, and IPS.

Does this monitor have a curve? The pictures don't show that there is but the info on the bottom says there is a curve.

No. I own this monitor. Those photos on the Newegg page are wrong. There is NO CURVE.

Here's the Acer page:

I've seen this deal here a few times. I own this monitor, and it's great, especially for the $$$, BUT the killer for me was the absolute turd of a monitor stand. Kills the deal. I bought the same exact monitor on Amazon but I bought the version with a fantastic acer stand that is extremely stable, strong and allows for all manner of adjustments, including flipping fast and easy to portrait mode. Watched and waited til the one on Amazon went on sale for $250. For me it was easily worth the extra $50 for the stand.

Look at the pictures. Clearly no curve. I own this monitor and am literally staring at it right now. NO CURVE. Read the Q&A on the Newegg page. Someone asked if monitor is curved. Best Answer shows, "The flat monitor picture at the very top is accurate. I don't know how those other ones got there."

Here's the Amazon page (version with the better stand). Look at photos. No curve.

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-ET322...r=8-1&th=1

Or just google the model # and you'll see it's flat. No curve. Video review here:

Video also shows just how awfully ridiculous the stand is.
