it's great for deterring honest thieves... I would only get it to protect valuable against fire or nosy petsitters, in-laws, kids...

Lowe's also has a great circular saw on clearance for $27.95.

Using the saw, you can cut the SentrySafe in half easily.

No it is not. Absolute junk. Seeing all the glowing reviews makes you cringe and blood boil. Regret buying at $130.

The digital key pad is just crap. The power management in it is horrible. It eats batteries (no matter how good they are). Once batteries die inside, there is no way to open even with the key. It locks itself.

It is NOT waterproof - way too many gaps.
I doubt it is fire proof.

Always looking for a safe and always read comments not to buy them since they are no good. Anyone have a good fire/water safe for a good price?

Isn't this the one where a magnet can open the safe from the outside in 2 seconds?

Bank safe. I know its cliche to give that answer, but after going through a series of safes, they are just a waste of money. More of a nuisance than peace of mind. If you own a home, you can get one and throw it in the basement, but get one without the digital lock. Go with any sentry purely mechanical safe. If you are in an Apartment, just trust the banks.
