Red Pocket 360 5gb plan for $205

I guess instead of eBay offering a discount, this plan is discounted by about 15% from its list price of $240

One thing I noticed was that it says new customers only. So does that mean you can't apply this is a pin to an existing account? Also someone on a reddit thread called redpocketcs said you have 90 days to activate instead of 1 year. Both are different than what we have come to expect.

Networks listed in the details seem to be blue(GSMA), purple (GsmT) and yellow (CDMAS). In the past, it's only been purple and blue for 5gb and above.

Both are different than what we have come to expect.

They are starting to gain popularity so they can start to push around customers like other companies do to squeeze a few extra cents out of us. I have been using them since last year and had no problems with the service.

I have this and I'm surprised at how fast I go through 5 gb. Note that if you go for the AT&T version (GSMA), then you'll need to be on an android device to use tethering. Also, group texts and MMS don't work. I switched to a CDMA plan at the end of my 360 day period so that I could tether with my iPhone.

So they are now offering this plan for verizon phones? That would be awesome. I tried going to a 2gb plan last time but when I go thru the 2gb, my phone won't use the slower speed...it just dies and I'm out of data completely so I could use more data and I need a new plan by beginning of August.

Only thing is I've been using Red Pocket for the past few years so not a new customer. I'd be new to the plan but not new to Red Pocket.

ETA: It looks like it's still just GSMA. I wish this would work with CDMA.

Amazon has the 3gb plan that has Verizon. It's more expensive though.

Someone chatted with redpocket customer service and we're told that this could be used as a renewal pin for an existing account.

No word on whether the 90 days to activate is confirmed or not.

Seems like all indications are that these new discounted plans are just for new customer activations with 90 day activation limit. I don't know why they don't just state it in big bold lettering.

I predict that there will be a lot of eBay returns by people who bought these by mistake.

Net10 at 5gb pm for 365 days (red pocket 360 days) sounds much better at $240 as it works with all 4 operator and they never mentioned any issue with MMS on att iphone

The $240 360 5gb plan on eBay will only work on AT&T and T-Mobile.

The 3gb 360 plan on Amazon.com (available for about $255)will work with all 4 carriers.

Regardless of which plan you choose, you will only run into issues with mms if you have an iPhone and use AT&T. If you have an iPhone, choose Verizon as your backend carrier.

Any idea if this also allows personal hotspot on an iPhone?

They have the option for you to pick Verizon. It is cheaper than Red pocket. I purchased one last night .

The Net10 plan would be better for those looking for Verizon coverage. 5gb uTntT. I use page plus which is a sister company to Net10 on Tracfone. I guess if you trust Tracfone, it's a good deal.

Red pocket has always been solid but occasional hiccups. Their tech support us either in the Philippines or India

Yep, it's 258.00 on Amazon. I used it for 2 years. Price hasn't gone down in last few years and since it's not listed on Ebay, one can't take advantage of any coupons to help out with the price. That's why I went with CDMA 2gb on Ebay. I'm on that now and it expires in August. I am now looking into my other options for CDMA...maybe there is something better out there. New companies seem to be popping up all the time.....heading out to Howard Forums.
