You see the JBL RENEWED on Amazon for that price... and FYI, the original unit is 12 watts of power vs the V2 with only 6 watts

I can't find a clear answer on whether or not the mod will charge the phone when it is attached. I assume no, but there are some newer firmware settings that make me unsure.

The BH link shows this model as
Speaker Power 3 W per speaker
6 W total .. so it's not as good as the original version ?

I found a review that seems to suggest that it can play music for 10 hours. The specs page says 1000 mAh battery. Not sure if it will charge the phone but it would be great if it did. I got it strictly for the speaker since I have a 2200 mAh Tumi battery mod for my cell phone already. It's usually more than enough to last me the whole day.

Where does it say that the v1 is 12 watts? On the JBL site and other sites such as motorola it states that the v1 is only 6 watts (3W per speaker, 6W total)?

Both versions are same. The difference is colors/appearance, and JBL Soundboost 2 supports an app with EQ and virtualization effects.
I'd personally go with whichever Soundboost is cheapest.

I'm confused... Is this the same as what's on sale at Motorola's site for $40? https://www.motorola.com/us/produ...st-speaker

Yes. That link from motorola is the same one being sold at bhp.

Here is what the version 2 looks like.

Usually I get a shipping upgrade bump because I'm not far distance.. standard free shipping 5-7 days is what I expect for ground shipping from the West Coast.. I'll pass.. but good deal for those that really want it..

Not correct as others have already pointed out. 12 watts would be sweet though, but sadly it's 6 watts.
