Terrible transfer with heavy DNR (digital noise reduction) and only the theatrical cut in 4K. Buy the Blu-ray Skynet edition instead and thank me later!

They made a native 4K transfer of the film and then added a ton of DNR on top of it. This essentially eliminates the film grain and adds a very smoothed out look reminiscent of Vaseline being smeared on a camera lens - it's gross. So far, the Skynet Edition is the best transfer of the film even though it's only in 1080p. Now this 4K UHD does come with a blu-ray disc but I'm unaware of the quality of its transfer.

I wished they never made *this* one Smilie

It destroyed the Terminator franchise, turned a thought-provoking dark Science Fiction film (T1) into a kid-friendly, squeaky-clean one-liner spewing product-placement-for-Subway popcorn flick. Shameful Smilie

Sad...well not really....to hear they ruined a 4k re-mastering with excessive Noise Reduction Smilie Money Saved!

Fair enough. But compared to Genisys, T2 is a cinematic masterpiece

Additionally, there has been 3 separate Blu Ray releases. Only one of which has been decent. Be sure to get this one, https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Te...ay/127046/
