I never got around to playing Xbox 360 version. Anyone have experience with both to have an opinion if the remastered is worth it? Any changes, tweaks, or just better graphics?

Don't have the remastered but best believe I am now. The Xbox 360 version was awesome. Definitely top 5 jrpg. This game got me into the tales series. I still think it's the best one I've played so far.

Just finished Trials of Cold Steel 1 and playing through the second. I'm on a JRPG binge and this looks amazing but I've never played it or heard much about it. Purchased and going to play it after I finished Trials of Cold Steel 2.

TU! Thanks!

If you decide to play, then know that there are some quests meant to be completed on second playthrough if you plan on being a completionist, unless you follow a guide. It's for the brionac spear. For some, they would prefer a console with trophy/achievement system. I say no more. But it's a great game and I was happy to fall in love a decade later once more.

I watched a graphics comparison and the graphics are dramatically sharper than the Xbox 360. I think there is some new scenes/content and if I recall correctly, translation fixes too. Also both Japanese and English voiceovers.

I would recommend it. I have only done the remaster on Switch (I thought handheld would be cool), but if you want to play on big screen I'd say go for the XBone or PS4 version (yes, I know I can dock the switch but the graphic improvements I think could justify the more powerful console). I bought the PS4 version but haven't had time to run on it yet.

There is no doubt it is far superior to the old one, graphically, and as mentioned in an earlier post, also has dual audio and additional content. I want to give honor to the original but it's good to support the development effort that went into deciding to re-do this as well as they did.

Thanks for all the insight. Seems like a fair deal to double dip as thankfully I still have GCU.

Bit nicer looking, and faster load times are great. This is based on the ps3 version we never got in US, which includes 2 more characters, a couple new quest lines, and the occasional quality of life improvement.

Hope you meant 200. If you have two thousand sealed games, you might have a hoarding problem Biggrin2
