Why da puk the manufacturers don't make all monitors Vesa compatible. It's a pretty wide standard. Unless they sell the stand for 999 for the rich.

Most monitors are in the 5-7ms delay range. If that's all you have ever known, then you will notice no change. If you have ever purchased a 1-2ms delay monitor, then a 5-7ms will drive you crazy. Most people have never purchased a 1-2ms delay monitor. But, once you have, you can't understand how you ever lived with a 5-7ms delay your entire life.

I got the very similarly specced HP monitor from Best Buy earlier this year for the same price, it has VESA. So might be worth looking out for if you really needed the mounting options like I did.

Probably some type of tax or fee involves in using any type of standard. Gotta pay royalties to someone I am sure.

According to Wikipedia, manufacturers must pay to use the VESA logo, but that's optional. It doesn't seem like you have to pay to just make it compatible. After all, it's just four friggin holes in the back of the monitor, it ain't revolutionary. So yeah, it seems like they're just leaving the feature out on purpose, either to save a nickel, or to force you to buy a proprietary mount.

It seems that this model has a hole to plug in a headphone (I checked the seller's website) Does anyone know whether I can plug my headphone directly to the monitor?
