I am interested in the 4 camera system. Is this a decent system or should I look elsewhere?

HI zeddikus

I do not trust WiFi for my core system, so
If you can go with a wired IP PoE system that would be more reliable on the longer term.

( you will still have to pull the power wires to the cameras, and unless you have power in the locations you need that means you're still doing some work to pull a wire .. )

Hi Mat2000,
Thanks for the reply. I was hoping you would be able to answer. Hehe. I guess I will look for a PoE system. Thanks

Happy to help out zeddikus

imho Definitely worth the time to go with a wired system if you own the house and plan to keep it for awhile.

Anybody has one of their systems? I've read reviews about their app that you can't view the live video if you're outside of your house wifi.

I don't have one of these systems, but I assume you would just need to know which ports to open on your router.

Hi Natash, xanadu

DO NOT PORT FORWARD

Seriously, you will get cyberjacked if you do.

Instead run a VPN server on your router ( example some ASUS routers already have a VPN server software installed )

See the notes at ipcamtalk in the wiki there for more info

Natasha: If you can, get a good IP PoE kit instead of the WiFi one - as it will be more reliable.
