Hose diameter is almost as important as HP, we should force marketing people to treat it as such (just like how motherboard specs talk about oz of copper, type of caps, and number of layers now).

I use a knock off dust deputy with a 2.5" shop-vac and it is amazing. I then put a hepa bag and hepa filter in the vacuum, and it is great (stripping house with paintshaver, and 6" sander). I fill up a 5 gallon bucket every day, and there is almost nothing in the bag.

Very important tip for those using a dust extractor, put the bucket inside a 2nd bucket and it won't collapse.

Paid $40 last time is was posted. Deal for that. Metal is only reason to buy. The power is good, even with its small hose. But the latching mechanism is completely inadequate. Multiple times I have grabbed the handle to move it around only to have a lid in my hand.

I just bought this today. Nice price and a good system for my dust extractor.

Looks like the same one they had for Black Friday a couple years back for $40. I grabbed on then. Pretty good vac but could use a larger diameter hose.

I have a Dust Deputy and 20 year old shop vac. I'm replacing the old one with this one. I cannot recommend the Dust Deputy enough. It is incredible. I've been using it for a year and it works just like it should. I bought the DIY version.

I don't mind a tiny hose on a 1.5 gallon vac, but on a 12 gallon... not cool. It looks like CFM suffers as well. I like the metal though.

1-1/4 hose sucks for actual shop type of use beyond vacuuming your car.

It's why people are scared to post. I posted something not long ago that I thought was a great deal and got blasted for dumb stuff. Smilie
I posted my first thing last week. I think people were pretty okay with my formatting...I hope at least. Kinda sad it never hit front page honestly though.
