some people here seem to get caught up on specs. heck even the brushed m18s are used all the time in construction, day in and day out by people who use the tools for their livelihood, these brushless m18s will only be that much better.

heck i use my m12 brushed combo nearly everyday on the jobsite and they've worked without a hiccup for about five years.

anything Milwaukee makes will be good enough for the homeowner...and it'll all be good for the jobsite too...

i'm somewhat thinking of getting this set cause a fan would be nice for keeping the skeeters off when that explosion hits and there are times when i find myself wanting wanting two impacts and a drill like when installing cabinets so you have a driver with phillips to take off cabinet doors, a driver with the cabinet screw bit and a drill with a drill bit for predrilling the holes for connecting the cabinets side to side...

milwaukee also did it right when they have that combo charger that can do the m12 and m18 battery so i could use it for both

Guy at work has this set. Been abused since release last year in Commercial Carpentry and still ticking fine better then some of the Fuel Models. Just because it's not Fuel does not mean it's cheap. Compared to what's been out years ago these are very good. I just want the Compact Hammer Drill. I do Have the Gen 3 Fuel Set and Gen 2 Hammer Drill.

so this is like the mid grade milwaukee stuff?

the fuel is top of the line? m18 brushless middle? and m12 the lowest?

this deal here looks good because it matches specs of ryobi's top of the line brushless impact driver and hammer drill. i think ryobi might be slightly higher specs but this is milwaukee.

personally i think if im not getting top of the line milwaukee and getting ryobi specs, i may just stick with ryobi so im in same system of battery but thats just me.

Milwaukee's Fuel M18 is Milwaukee's high end. For Drills and Impact driver your just going to get more power and better run time but for a Premium price upgrade over this Set that is listed. This set has not been out as long as the Fuel models which are in version Gen 3. I believe the listed Brushless set came out the Gen3 release. It just doesn't have Milwaukee best motor's etc but still perform's great. Then you always still have the Brushed set which Milwaukee still has and will be even cheaper then this. I would at the Minimum stay at this set and just pass the Brushed version's.

Milwaukee M12 class is not really consider low end the regular Brushed M12 yes not the Fuel M12. It can compete just as well with the M18 class. If your driving long screws and drill into concrete all day then it be worth the upgrade to M18 class for Faster and longer run time but if you just doing things around the house the M12 Fuel class is great. If you go the M12 way buy into the Fuel version they are worth it.

I have the brushless impact driver and drill (non-hammer) and both work well. Got them earlier this year on a daily deal with packout case for $170. I know the hammer drill version is a bit more, but even without the free tool, I feel I got a better deal. I haven't seen anything like it though.

Kits with packout cases are generally different models.
