Amazon is running a father's day special knocking $50 off the Oasis 7" models.

8GB Model - $199 w/Special Offers
32GB Model - $229 w/Special Offers

If you don't want the special offers then add on $20 to either model.

You can combine this with a 25% off coupon from trade in offer to knock it down even more. Just click the "Upgrade and Trade In" button on the product page.

I traded in a last gen paperwhite It gave me an instant $25 gift card and got an instant 25% coupon which both applied to purchasing the Oasis. I got the 8GB model and it took $50 off using the 25% off coupon. That puts me at $125 pre-tax with my trade in and the $25 gift card. I've had my eye on the Oasis for a while, but was waiting on a sale. I wanted to upgrade because my paperwhite has uneven lighting. The Oasis has 12 leds in it versus in the paperwhite giving more uniform lighting. In addition it has the nicer textured glass like the Voyage did which supposedly makes the text look crisper.

FYI you also get 20% back (instead of the regular 5%) when using the Amazon Prime Visa.

In my cart, the trade-in 25% promo amount was calculated on the discounted amount. Previous deals had comments saying it was calculated on the full amount (e.g. an extra $50 * 0.25 off).

8GB is plenty and more than you will ever use for just books. If you do a lot of audible then the 32GB would be the route to go. You can still do audio books on the 8GB, but just not as many.

The batteries in the voyage are replaceable, and replacements are cheap. Search YouTube for a tutorial and see if you want to go that route. Could save you some coin!

This is the deal I've been waiting for. I have a first gen Kindle for trade in that's gotta be over ten years old, still working. My total is $146 including tax for the 8gb. I can't imagine needing more storage than that.

Good deal and tempted. I got the Paperwhite 1 and considering trading it in. Does the Oasis still work with calibre? Never done a trade in with Amazon , do I get something from them to send the Kindle in or do I just box it up and ship it?

I previously bought this for the page buttons, but they make an annoying click with every press.

When does the instant 25% discount by appear? I'm ready to 'place my order,' but neither the trade-in value nor the % off are added.

It looks like those would only apply to a future purchase?

My Voyage's battery life is beginning to be noticeably worse than it was and I was considering the Oasis 2 during a sale, but the reports of its battery life aren't comforting.
