Don't know why you say this, I've had much better luck with TP-Link than D-Link, Netgear or just about any other brand. Not everyone needs an AC router.

I've had this router and it was not good at all for me. 100Mbps hardwired became 3Mbps wireless in my bedroom in a 2 br apartment. Also had to reset it almost every other day because the connection would drop. Tried firmware and dd-wrt with no luck, and n only settings. Now I get 100Mbps speed with the spectrum built in router.

Your slow WiFi sipped is probably due to this router only have a 2.4 GHz radio in it and due to the crowded nature of that spectrum WiFi performance suffers.

It's malpractice to leave a comment like yours without any kind of explanation.

Don't you like the color?

Don't like 2.4ghz only routers, single core 400mhz and companies selling it to unsuspecting consumers..it would struggle to stream Netflix to more than one device

first mistake is N-only in DD-WRT is broken, try mixed NG.

This is the cheapest price I have ever seen for a new router. I'd be skeptical it would be good for average use. A lot of complaints in reviews online but I guess there are also a lot of complaints with more expensive routers too.

I have older dual band TP-link router has same issue. Have to constantly reboot to fix WiFi issue. Asus product is so much better and stable.

Do the 3 external antennas make it go faster... sorta like the red stripes and tail fin on a suped-up 1998 Honda Civic?

I had this router for several years and it worked perfectly. I paid four times as much for it. I had to reset it about once every month or two but other than that it was pretty rock-solid reliable.
