There is a HUGE diff between the 5 and 6. 5 is a good TV but terrible for DOLBY VISION HDR 4K...too dark like most under $1500 TVs
6 series is an amazing TV, almost as good as VIZIO P 2018, definitely much better than most Samsungs and LGs and SONYs.
Too bad that COSTCO never sold the 6 series. That 4 year free extended warranty and 90 day free return is something.
A big plus is the embended ROKU software, DOLBY VISION, and the ability to record TV without a DVR .

When you don't know what you are talking about, it's best to just say nothing.

The bonus credit card rebate:
* Is not standard with every Amazon purchase;
* Is not a new card 'sign-up' offer;
* Is specific to this TV (brand/model/size).

Got 2 of these last time it was 699 with 15% cash back with amazon card. The 15% cash back/points are already on my card. I ordered 2 of them and selected June 1st from 9am to 12pm delivery but for some reason they were shipped using one company for one of them and another company for the other and one of them changed their delivery window to 12pm to 3pm. I called amazon they gave me $50 promotional credit for the mix up and the good thing is one tv was delivered at 11:50 and the 2nd at 12:10. Both panels were good some minor dirty screen effect and a little dark in the corners. Happy with the TVs one by pool and one in bedroom, I wouldn't of bought them at 1299$ or whatever the price was when they came out but for about $600 each after cash back it's a good tv.

LoL. I got the 5 series from Costco when it was $529 and thought it was a pretty sweet deal. The 2nd year warranty seals the deal and the easy returns. I've gotten a few sets from Amazon without much luck on the quality of the sets once they arrive here.

At the time I purchased the 5 series (3 months ago) the prices for the 6 hadn't really come down just yet, so it was a killer deal. I know the 6 series is a way better TV, but I'll only buy local at this point with TVs. I really do think the off-pallet shipping does a number on TVs that you get online and then returning it (even with Amazon) is a pain in the ass when you have to either lug a big TV back to UPS or wait for someone to come pick it up during a weekday.

The 5 series is an above average budget TV, but the 6 series gets much brighter and the picture is just better overall. My wife really can't handle TVs that are too bright though, so meh...I'll probably end up getting whatever TCL puts out in the next few years for myself in the office Big Grin

I've been considering this TV or the Hisense H9E Plus for $649 from Walmart? Any advice?

The Amazon credit card promotion has no place in the deal forum
Good thing it's not in the thread title, just in my comment.
