The other way around. Best Buy had it for that and then Amazon matched

My favorite gaming controller. Wish I could use it on the PS4 (not that the PS4 controllers are terrible).

Can these do everything that the Joy-Cons can do? What would be the drawback to purchasing this? My kids have a switch and have been asking for additional controllers so their friends can play with them, I want to make sure these will do everything the included controllers will do.

You can't play some games with them. For example, Mario party requires the joy cons. The mini games can't be played with the pro controller.

If you bought a left and right joycon, for a lot of games, they would work as two seperate controllers for two seperate people, versus the pro controller only working for one person. That's really the only draw back. Also, the joycons snap onto the switch while in portable mode. If you are looking for quantity, I'd go with the joycons instead.

I would add that the joycon joysticks feel different than the joysticks on the pro controller. The joycon joysticks behave differently in gameplay too. It's to the extent that I cannot play with the joycons now because they are so loose and imprecise compared to the pro controller. I bring the pro controller with me anytime I play the Switch.

Yea I've actually noticed this too. I've had a 2 joycons go bad on me as-well(joystick thinks I'm moving it when I'm not), while I have not had a single issue with the pro controller. The pro controller has higher build quality than the joy-cons for sure.

Agreed, glad I'm not the only one who's noticed this.

This. Both my original and new joycons have ridiculous drift. Almost unplayable.

Pro is still rock solid

Google joy con cleaning. Dirt gets trapped in the joystick, you gotta clean it.

Man I've had the opposite experience with the pro controllers. 2 of them last July and both have gone bad with ghost movement on the left joystick. No issues with the 2 sets of joy cons though. Had to buy a pro controller from BB with the warranty to have a back up plan when this goes awry again.
