Decent prices but (a) swimline makes cheap crap, I'd almost prefer Intex (b) none of this looks very nice, very blah

The inflatable swan "with fun abstract print"
... I think that's code for "we used whatever leftover plastic print we had laying around"

promoted post, take the instant popularity with mild skepticism

"promoted post"? Found that they had 15% off select items on another deal site. Well, the other deal site said "Ebay has 15% off select items". Anyway, took a look, found what I thought was a good deal on a float similar to one I bought a couple years ago. So no, this is not 'promoted' and I dont think it had instant popularity laugh out loud, it actually took longer to gain votes than I thought!

Is VM Innovations not an affiliate?
Pardon the assumption- searching that company on the SD forums results in a long list of staff posted "deals".
Perhaps we could have actually sponsored companies/posts actually disclosed to avoid these misunderstandings.

Merchants cannot pay us to have a deal posted. As for a disclosure, as I am sure you have probably seen there is a disclosure made [vvcap.com] on every deal thread on Slickdeals, at the bottom of the OP: "If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale" (and this disclosure is there, regardless of whether the thread is posted by staff or by a user).

For what it's worth, I don't post anything that I do not want to post, and I put a lot of care/effort into each post, as well as the effort in finding the deal in the first place. I post from stores I like, items I like, or items I think others like, for a good (hopefully great) price.

Hope that helps Smilie

I was going to get the "Owl" just because my son loves them. Then I looked at what they call an owl...

The retail prices on here are drastically inflated, most of these are in stock at target right now for under $15 retail. $50+ is a JOKE

VM Express / VM Innovations sells these through target, walmart, etc. Not saying its worth the MSRP, very little out there is. But I think you would be pretty hard pressed to find a 91' float for less than $10.
