I bought this from Dell a couple weeks ago. $899, $200 gift card, 8% urlhasbeenblocked, 3% Dell Rewards, 1.5% quicksilver card, free shipping. $588 plus tax. It arrived by freight in 4 days.

It's a really nice TV. It's huge. Don't understand comment about 70" TV being closer to 65" than 75". Screen size is 69.5". Exactly half way between 65" screens and 75" screens. I was debating going for the TCL 65" 6 series from Amazon for just a little bit more. The TCL has better specs and is well-loved by review sites. But I really wanted the extra 5" screen and the LG Magic Remote is unbeatable. Plus I heard a lot of bad user reviews of the TCL showing up with a bad panel. Didn't want to risk it.

I was afraid that picture quality would disappoint because it has local dimming. That turned out not to be an issue. The blacks are very dark and there's very little blooming. It's not the highest contrast or brightest TV in the world, but it's great for the price. OS is lightning fast and the remote is really great. It has the magic wand cursor, voice control and Google Assistant onboard. You can talk to it and tell it to do anything. "Switch input to Xbox", "What's the weather tomorrow?", "Who stars in this movie?", "Watch fail videos on Youtube", etc.

The other remarkable thing about this TV is the sound quality. It's like no other TV I've ever heard. I have an awesome home theater, and I seriously thought I was listening to that when it was actually coming out of the TV speakers. I'm the guy telling everyone to stop torturing themselves with TV speakers and go buy a receiver and speakers, or at least a good soundbar. I can honestly say for 90% of users, you will not need any else. I don't know how they did it, but the TV speakers sound awesome.

So overall, if ultimate picture quality is important, there are probably better TVs out there. If size, OS, features, sound quality, everyday usability, and overall value are more important, I don't see how this deal can be beat.

It's elementary math.

This TV is 62.2 x 35.9 inches = 2,233 square inches of screen.
An LG 65" UK6090 is 57.9 x 33.6 = 1,945
The 75" equivalent is 66.5 x 38.5 = 2,560

The 75" has 327 square inches more screen area than the 70", while the 70" only has 288 square inches of screen area more than the 65". It's basic math. The point I was trying to get across is that when put side-by-side with a 75" and 65" TV, the size difference between the 65" and 70" is not as extreme as the size difference between the 70" and 75". If the 70" was by itself, you would probably think it's a 65" TV.

What? Huh? It's a 70" TV... I'd think it was a 70" TV... not a 75"... not a 65". For it to be exactly the midpoint between 65" and 75", it would literally need to be just about a 1/4" wider and a 1/4" taller. So, you're telling us you can see that difference at a 15' viewing distance but can't determine that the TV is a 70" and would concluded it's a 65"? Confused

Let me write this in plain English so you can understand. A 75" LOOKS way bigger than a 70" in-person, while a 70" only LOOKS a little bit bigger than a 65" in-person.

You can keep trying the argument... but even on a percentage basis, the 70" is closer in size to the 75" than the 65" is to the 70"...

I bought this a couple weeks ago and there was 8% cash back from the website that rhymes with backrootin. The day after I bought it, it went up to 10%. Now looks like it's only 2%.

This seems like a really silly argument to have, but ok. If you do the elementary math, you'll find that (using the dimensions you've given), going from the 65" screen to the 70" is an increase of 14.81%. Going from the 70" to the 75" screen is only an increase of 14.64%.

So there's a bigger difference going from 65 to 70.

Makes me wonder what 75" 4K TVs are going to be going for around BF.. I might hold out and see what the 80"+ are going to be. Hell, even when football season starts, they seem to have some insane deals.
