But isn't going that club just like the old Columbia/bmg cd deals of the 90s where you get a great deal up front but then have to buy x number of movies at their price? I felt like I did the math one time and it came out to $18 per to fulfill the obligation.
That used to be the case. But in the last 12-24 months they made some key changes. Specifically free shipping (when you sign up with a specific promo code), only requiring 3 "full priced" purchases (also with a specific sign up code) and also dropping the price of what counts as a commitment (believe it used to be $29.95 but anything over $19.95 counts now).

The prices I quoted are all in, for a full commitment (excluding taxes of course). Can cancel as soon as you get all your movies.

Yes, I fell for it before and got stuck with a way over priced movie I didn't want because I missed the deadline to cancel an auto delivered Blu-ray. Disney charged like $35+tax and it was going for $15 on Amazon, plus I didn't want the movie. Also they will send you "welcome back" sign up packets in the mail monthly forever. Don't do it. It's always cheaper to buy from Amazon/Target/Walmart and get the ones you want when there's a sale or promotion.
I get it. The DMC isn't for everybody. It requires a bit of work (but less than a lot of the SDs I see on here). I haven't experienced it, but supposedly they're pretty lenient if you accidentally forget to decline a featured title (even will send you a prepaid return label).

But just to be clear, it's not factually accurate to say "it's always cheaper to buy from Amazon/Target:Walmart". If you use the right promo code, and average the price of all of your titles over the full amount of $$ you have to spend (so it's apples to apples), DMC will always be cheaper. Unless you really only want/need one title. Then obviously chasing an individual deal is your best bet.

Seen this about 50 times. No kids in the house. Sadly, children today are subjected to absolute shit like Frozen rather than this gem or other greats like Tangled. Hell, the tiny vacuum cleaner that played a mere cameo in Wall-E had more depth, charm, and personality than the entire cast of Frozen combined. This is a must own for all ages.

Good price if you're only after Finding Nemo.

If there are 8+ Disney Blu-Rays, digital, or DVDs you're after, joining the Disney Movie Club is a better deal. Can get 8 for $53-$63+tax (or ~$6.60-$8 per copy). Don't want to hijack this thread so PM if interested.
No idea why this is getting thumbs down...

That's a thread about the DMC.

"Ultimately, it averages out (assuming 2x $24.95 titles) to about $71.80+tax for 9 Blu-Rays, or $7.97 +S&H / tax per title."

Highly suggest the DMC thread linked. I bought 7 movies for $21.90 and free shipping for my entire membership w/ one of the 7 counting towards my commitment. Only need two more titles in 24 months to meet my commitment.

Pre-order pricing is on par with Amazon and counts towards commitment. I.E.- Captain Marvel was $24.95 for Blu Ray, $29.95 for 4K and arrived 4 days before release date.

To each their own. I thought both Frozen and Finding Nemo were great movies, but of course I'm a bit impartial being 100% full blooded Norwegian Viking and all.

DMC is a scam. Make sure to read their fine print and terms & conditions, or enjoy getting ripped off by them.LMAO

What a ridiculous post. There's nothing scammy about it. Respond to the monthly offer on time, fulfill the obligation, and cancel when done if desired. You get 9 Disney blurays for about $80. It's simple.
