Recent updates to Kasa have made me irritated... Sometimes no devices respond. It's so annoying. I'd buy more of these switches right now if I was positive this issue would be taken care of soon.... It's been like a month now..

I have HS200 switches all over my house... haven't had a single issue with any of them. Picked up 3 for $31 on Amazon just before Christmas... then Walmart was just clearing them out for $7 each so I picked up 3 more. Decent price here, but yes, getting cheaper and cheaper.

I don't discount others negative experience with these, but as someone who actively uses 6 switches, 4 color changing bulbs, 3 white bulbs and a few wall plugs that are TP-Link Kasa (I have way more smart devices, but its a mix of other brands)... I've had a pretty damn perfect experience with only one dropout on a light bulb between them all in about 8 months.

That was at first used with a Google Wifi and now with an Orbi AC3000 and my eco-system at home is Google Home.

I'm just trying to say buy them if you are interested and give them a good testing phase. If for some reason they don't play nice with your setup then just return them, but if they do perform flawless....oh, they are a great value.

Can I use these to program an outside light timer that we currently have a programmable switch (non wifi)? Thanks in advance. Please don't tell me just to Google it. Lol.
