is there a way to disable the pin numbers if you are out of the house for a few days or do you have to delete all the pin numbers, being the only way to deactivate the lock? also, is there a setting that allows it to auto-lock if it has been left unlocked for a period of time? thanks.
the lock itself has auto lock function you can set for 30s, 1m, 3m. with a hub you can easily remove keys, set notification to your phone which key was used to open the door or if it was manually opened from inside.

What is the cheapest hub to be able to remotely lock/unlock this lock?

How do you open the lock if the electronics fail or batteries are dead? Is there a manual way to open?

I'm new to Rakuten what's the return policy with seller BUYDIG? More so what's the risk here compared to the every so customer friendly Amazon?

Reviews on Amazon show a high failure rate and bad connectivity to z-wave. Sounds like something to avoid in this version to me.

Does it work with alexa?
Amazon doesn't allow Alexa voice to unlock doors as part of their app developer program. Generally it's probably a good idea or someone could just shout at Alexa to unlock the door from the outside.

Alexa can unlock my doors via smartthings hub. She asks for a pin number that I have set.

I have one like this for 2 years but I can also use key, recommended. absolutely no issues - hooked to Smarthings, with shortcuts on iOS.

haha. A neighbor, last week gone for camping, when his house was raided by youngsters coming out of nowhere (Social media people) having fun at his pool side, when police call him to come and have look at house, only because he had one of these locks installed. Though possibly his children have talked of the combination with a wrong friend or might have carelessly let a friend look over shoulder, but this is what you secure you home with....
Are you a person?

Ended up purchasing two.. one for front and the other for walkout basement door in the back. Looking forward to the peace of mind knowing that the basement door is not only closed, but also locked.

That's the nice thing about getting the smart lock version. You can set a different pin for each person so you know which code was used and you can get notifications that it was used if you don't have a door or motion sensor. They may have just had a keypad type or didn't configure it for alerts. I'm replacing my cheap Defiant keypad lock (which has worked fine) with this one so I can check its status and to disarm the system when my in-laws let our dogs out while we're gone.

My locks text me when they are used. (I know when the kids get home, if the wife is home , or if one of the neighbors kids came over because each one has a different code.) I just shoot my neighbor a text to go double check the house if I don't know why. I even have it set up so 2 incorrect attempts and it alerts me. (it's usually my kids with things in their hands and don't enter the code fast enough). The wrong code notification is great because I think many would burglars wouldn't think it would alert me like that.

The old leaving a key somewhere around the house, if never know if someone gained entry but with the z wave lock I now know.

I've even called my dad and say we are out for the day because he likes to drop stuff off for the kids unexpectedly.
