You can attach a 9v battery at the bottom of the lock to power it temporarily.

This works with Ring Alarm security system too if anyone's wondering.

Does anyone know if this smart lock, or any for that matter, can work without the keypad and work with the existing deadbolt? I'm looking for something like this that will not use a keypad on the exterior. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Kwiks.../300641389

In for 1. Been waiting for a deal on a z-wave lock. The wife constantly leaves the door unlocked at night so now I can have Smartthings lock it with our goodnight routine.

It definitely needs the module in the front to function.

You want to look at something like an August Smart lock that works on top of your existing lock or the type you just linked that converts your current deadbolt

How do you open the lock if the electronics fail or batteries are dead? Is there a manual way to open?
