It stated that seller doesn't ship to PA. Wonder why?

Double check with your utilities company...they usually offer rebates with purchasing this...not sure if Rakuten would qualify as an approved company though...
Does it matter where you buy from? I thought you just have to fill the rebate form. I am looking at Massachusetts rebate and didn't see any. I might be wrong, can you point me to any which limits any store, so that I can be more careful

The review there is so misleading, I don't see why he come up with the conclusion ecobee > nest, to me nest can do anything ecobee did and can power by battery.
My ecobee3 lite just works better than my nest 3rd gen did. I had too many issues with it not recognizing I was on another floor and adjusting temperature where my ecobee seems to know where I am at.

I liked both but the ecobee a bit more.

How is the Rakuten return policy? I only ask as I am not sure I have the C wire needed to install this. I have a really old thermostat that I will be replacing.
My system didn't have a C. I used a device called "add-a-wire" that lets you use one wire for 2 functions. Bought 2 so I could also install a humidifier controlled by the nest. My system went from 4 wire to 6 wire without running new wires in the wall.

It's been that price for two weeks now in that site, so definitely not legitimate.

If your thermostat runs on battery, probably no C wire

Sorry I'm newbie. Can you describe more detail? My thermostat wires doesn't not have a C wire.

My house has 1 thermostat in the living room and then another in a front room. What's the best solution for zoning? Part of my house gets about 3-5 degrees warmer. The Nest sensor reviews are lukewarm. Can 1 thermostat in the living room and a sensor in the bed room work with dual HVAC system? Thanks in advance.

C wire just means continuous 24v power, which is what smart thermostats run on. Ecobee needs a C wire or the supplied wire which would have to be run down to the furnace. Nest doesn't need a C wire since it can steal power whenever the heat or AC runs, which tops off the battery.

You'd need 2 thermostats to control 2 HVAC, not just an extra sensor.

This review is out of date. Google has announced that all Nest integration with other (non google) devices will be ending.

If integration with IFTT and things like SmartThings is something you want, then avoid Nest products.
