I have this in Blu-ray with Atmos. The sound is amazing. I have a epson 5040UB pseudo 4K projector with HDR. Does the 4K version of the movie make a difference especially since the movie is mostly gray?

Yes absolutely. Adjust the colors on your projector accordingly if you think it's too "gray"

I don't know what it is yet to claim thats its good or bad or dont like it. My question was what is it equivalent to?
Blade Runner. How equivalent is widely debated.

To oversimplify, BR/BR49 are character studies with some action sequences sprinkled in. The science fiction movies you mentioned are largely the opposite. My guess is that the BR films aren't your bag.

This movie is FANTASTIC. If you love the original, it's great. The atmosphere and cinematography does the original proud. Was heading to Target today anyway...so this is perfect, thanks OP!

I came in here to say the same thing. Everyone tells me it's a good movie, I don't doubt it, but for some reason this movie bores me whenever I try to watch it. I'm usually into these movies. Weird

Overrated and self-indulgent run-time (almost 3 hrs) for such a simple story with some laughable scenes. Too many people nowadays are impressed by good cinematography and special effects. It barely expanded on the mythos of the superior first film as well.
You'll find yourself in disagreement with the critics, who loved it. A "must see" 81 Metacritic rating. But you're your own most important critic, that's certain.

Those of us old enough to have seen the original in theatres remember that it, too, was hammered by the public and considered a rare dud for Ford.

I found this fantastic. And I was against even the idea of messing with the canon.

For my part BR has never been about Deckard, never been about the obvious. It's always been Rachael's story. It's always been about the replicants. This is a fantastic addition to the lore.

If, however, you can't bear to watch it, don't. There's a lot out there you can see. Don't feel you have to enjoy it.

I, for example, loathe Studio Ghibli material, while everyone else raves. YMMV!

My projector is well calibrated. My question was since this movie is mostly grey, is there value in getting 4K hdr over Blu-ray.

I would imagine HDR is an advantage even with a lot of grey. That's more about contrast, less about color. My understanding is this movie makes good use of it.

How well your projector can display HDR content is a separate question. Projectors in general can't match TVs for displaying HDR given limitations of projection tech.
