It was $555 before tax with a student discount. Took advantage of 10% CB from 3baitz as well. Been looking for something this size and performance in the $500 range for a few months now. Upgrading my 7-8 year old Asus UX31. Good deal thanks!

You have to use the Coupon I have mentioned during checkout. Don't use the coupon mentioned in Lenovo site.
It only allows for one ecoupon. If I use the extra5 it reverts the price to $850

Using the coupon on the site + military/student discount brings it down to $585+tax. Highest rebate I found was 8% back (effectively taking care of the tax for me.) Almost bit the bullet, probably would have if I was able to get in at the original deal price. Still not a bad deal, I'm going to wait until something similar comes up closer to $500 though. Personally don't need a laptop til school time.

You do realize that pretty much every electronics company spies on its users in some way, right? Privacy no longer exists.

My 13-yr old is really into coding and he wants his own laptop for it. This a good choice? Would the 14-in screen be a detriment?
If you have a microcenter close, I would recommend this laptop:

I see the Flex 15 (New Version) with the i7 work with the same code. Is that processor better?

This is article is over three years old. If anything, can't you just do a clean install of Windows?

That's a good price. I would say for most folks, i5 vs i7 or 8 vs 16 gb of ram, they aren't going to notice a diff in performance. I do think the 256 GB NVME is kinda small. 1 TB NVME is an easy $120 upgrade though.

Today's prices are nowhere near as good as yesterday's though. My Flex 14 worked out to ~$490 plus tax after all discounts and rebates. That was a pretty sweet deal.

Your flex 14 isn't this flex 14 so your point is moot

They have the same after ecoupon price. Yesterday's extra discounts would have applied to this flex 15 as well. There was a potential for greater savings yesterday. That's my point.
