These are amazing speakers. I have them (8") as rears in my theater married to Martin Logan towers and a center ML speaker. Also have a pair of 8" in my formal living as Zone 2 to my family room system and also... in my master where I installed 6" as fronts. Sound amazing! These are a steal at this price. They are NOT for ceiling. For that a great pair is the Yamaha 360 ceiling speaker. They work extremely well with these JBLs.

I am crazy about crisp audio and have each room setup as a theater from 2.1 in game room to 9.1 in theater (yeh we texans have game rooms and theaters 🎭)

I have Klipsch reference series speakers for front, center, and rear sides. Can I mix these for the rears to make it a 7.1 system?

Thanks OP, been waiting for this sale. Already purchased the SP8II for ceiling rear speakers and wanted to get another set for the ceiling surround.

This deal comes around fairly often fyi. Although surprisingly, when they are not on sale from JBL, it's hard to get the pair less than $150 or so.

The description needs to be updated, because there are ceiling speakers listed in the OP.

I used these (The 8's) for surround and back surround in my theater room and couldn't be happier. Great price, they feel solid and they sound great.

Why can't they be used as ceilings?

JBL SP8CII <---- these not good for ceiling? Seems like a pretty solid deal.
