I was mainly referring to a 49" screen fitting on a standard desk (or mounted directly behind), used as a traditional "monitor" and being too large/impractical. At a standard "desk viewing distance" this is more likely to make you sick, than be helpful. This is just my opinion. I used to use my 70" 4K TV as my PC monitor, but that was in a living room setting with 6'-10' viewing distance, not the 2'-3' you are going to get from your standard desk setup. Like I said, it is just my opinion.. I am all about huge screens, but 49" (for a desk setup) is just too big for myself. If it is a living room setup, hey.. go for it. Actually go BIGGER.
Ah ok. I missed out on the 43 last week. I have my current 42 LG on a standard PC stand, but I don't sit at the desk, I use a trackball Logitech M570 mouse and wireless keyboard and sit 6' away from the table. Using a keyboard is a nuisance in this fashion, but I don't type a ton. An optical mouse/mouse pad wouldn't work so well in my setup. I would think 43 would be huge to sit up close with, but maybe I'm wrong. Don't want to chance my Rx shooting up and getting new glasses.

Are these cheap 4k tv's worth it?
Most definitely. The 43" TCL 5 series might have been the best $199 I have ever spent on a piece of tech (it was on sale for that price a week ago). This is just about as good of a deal, as the 49" is 30% larger than the 43", for 35% more $$$. The ONLY thing I would really consider if I was going to buy this TV is that fact that the 55" 4 series is only $299 (30 bucks more than this 49"). The picture quality is not quite as good (I own both), but the jump from a 49" TV to a 55" TV is pretty significant, and size might be more important to you than the small increase in picture quality.

Hahaha. Yeah. Even with the 43" mounted on the wall behind my desk, it is still gigantic (I am probably 3' from the screen). Hopefully I don't so too much damage to my eyes. I just had Lasik done a couple of years ago. lol .

The eBay 13% through the app that a previous poster mentioned is 35 off, that's better than my GE suggestion if you don't mind getting the money back in ebay bucks.

If you make a burner google account, you may be required to authenticate it by uploading a drivers license. Google did this to my moms official account, I said screw that, never had an online company ask for a license/passport. So, I can't use her 30 off. It's a crap shoot. The 13% is legit for ebay, placed an order, and can return to BB store if it doesn't work out.
thnx and repped

I bought this exact TV 3 weeks ago from Best Buy retail store. They had the last one for $300. I asked the salesperson nicely and he took 10% off, so I paid $270 + tax.

For the price I am blown away. I have zero complaints about this TV. It is in our living room and perfect for watching Netflix/Amazon and Comcast. Motion is not as good as a true 120hz panel but those are a lot more expensive. Watching hockey is just fine, and stock market tickers (think CNBC) on bottom of screen are fine. I'd recommend this TV at this price.

How Do I Return An Item?
The original receipt or packing slip (if you received one) is required for all returns and exchanges. Items purchased from Best Buy on eBay are eligible for returns or exchanges by bringing the product into a Best Buy store located within the United States or by mail.
Any experience or knowledge of returning items in-store that were purchased through Google Express? Google's help section seems to imply return by shipment.

I saw that too, so I backed off. BB used to not accept eBay BB returns in store, but that has changed apparently. If you dont return your eBay BB TV in store, the BUYER PAYS RETURN SHIPPING, so keep that in mind. That 20 lb TV isn't cheap to send back.

My bad about the eBay BB policy link, I don't know how to post it on SD, so it got blocked.

Some of the reviews for this TV on Best Buy's website mention sub-par Dolby Vision (entire screen changes brightness constantly). Some quick googling on the issue turns up a few forum posts with the same problems. Be sure to look into that before purchasing this TV if that feature is important to you.

Dolby Vision got better recently with the newest updates. I did experience the entire screen dimming, etc, but it has diminished with subsequent updates. The TV in general looks really good. This was with my 5 series, so I'm assuming it's the same with the 6.

Got the tv today for gaming. Looks really good. I had a samsung JS7000 and I was ready to get something else. It isn't the best TV, but it fits my needs and budget.

Nice TV fine picture but i cannot stand having to use 2 remotes to get to Cable TV, it will not default to the cable box even if it is the only input. Not a huge deal but i lost the remotes for 2 tv's already so once this one is gone, i am toast.
