Seems like the FE 28mm outperforms in sharpness in APS-C versus the Batis 25mm. This is strange

If it's just one lens I will shut my mouth. But this happens to all Batis lenses and Zeiss is just outsourcing their works and rips off people by labeling the lens with the little blue logo. If you like Zeiss, go buy Loxia, they are pure Zeiss.
If it's a good lens, why do you care? They licensed the design from Tamron, so what?

Yes. This is a full frame lens. You're much better off with the Sigma 16mm 1.4

For a6xxx cameras I recommend the Sigma 16 and 30 which you can get both for cheaper than this one lens and they perform marvelously. This 24 would be closer to a 35 on your a6xxx. If you want I have a Zeiss apsc 24mm for sale!

I think 15% off on Rakuten has expired. Do you still see that?

I currently have a Zeiss 35mm f2.8, Zeiss 55mm f1.8 and a Rokinon 14mm 2.8 AF. Would this be too close to my lens combo?

Buy good glass. My 12 year old D90 still keeps up with a lot of newer cameras because of the lenses I buy.

are you kidding? 14 to 35 is a pretty large gap, however, 14 to 25 to 55 would be really nice gapping. 35 is the odd one out, but I'de have no issue with all those lenses.

But this is now $500 diff vs the 24mm gm (use to be $100 diff, then its a no brainer to get the GM)
still not worth it. if ur gonna spend this much on the wide angle might as well shell out that extra $500. thats why i said the other option is FE28. the batis is now in a very weird position.
