Walmart has marked these down across the country. Great for those of us that live in scorpion territory as now is the time of year they come out in droves. Grab a bunch of these and seal up your block wall to help significantly. Can of course be used for other things (such as in the bathroom). This is not glue as the brand name suggests, and no, this is not caulk despite being found in the caulk section – it's merely sealant.

The tubes might be on the shelves where the caulk is or they might be in the clearance section. Use Brickseek and the Walmart app to find a store and locate. Item is likely discontinued.

Be careful buying old silicone. Make sure to check the date on the tube to make sure its still good. Once it gets to old it may not harden or will harden in the tube if damaged.

So don;t stock up. If you buy, buy to use it very soon.

Agreed, I'm the king of stocking up on supplies but not when it comes to caulk. I only buy before I need it and don't bother to save the rest of the tube unless I know I'll use it very very soon. Bad caulk only makes clean up and removal more of a PITA than the dollar or 2 it saves

If you mix this with a little acrylic paint (any style) it can easily harden into a silicon mold for craft projects. It stinks and takes a couple days to fully set, but WAY cheaper than pourable silicone.

I used to make concrete climbing holds that way. Good deal.

How long does silicone caulk last? And the same applies for construction adhesive?

At $1 pe tube,I'll risk keeping a couple on hand. Completely agree on throwing away a tube once opened though.

It varies. But there should be a use by date on the tube itself. I have found most can go anywhere from 1-6 months past that date before they fail.

So no promises it will work after that date. And if the tube got even a small crack/hole it can go bad well before then also.

Used some of this to add extra sealing to the edges of the solar panel housing to help keep water out, for some outdoor motion sensor flood lights. Worked great and they still work 3 years later. The first set I bought died within a year and a half without the extra sealing and when I opened them up it appeared to be from water damage.

Don't plan on using it much beyond the use by date printed on the tube or a year after the manufacturing date. It varies from brand to brand or if it's a hybrid mixture. The best advice is don't buy it if you don't plan on using it fairly soon. Even an unopened tube will go bad. If it's old when you use it try a practice bead first. If it doesn't dry toss it because removing it is difficult and can create a big mess.
