If you have WiFi issues try to install clean Windows on it. I did it before starting using the laptop and never had a problems with WiFI dropping

Free replacement within 90 days, except for the fact that there's a 15% restocking fee clearly stated in the return policy
This does support type-C charging

I bought this laptop for my wife a number of months ago. We had a lot of trouble with the wifi dropping. I tried everything. I updated the firmware, updated HP drivers, rolled back to old drivers, installed intel branded drivers. None of that worked. Finally, I just wiped the laptop clean and did a clean Windows 10 install from generic windows install media, i.e. not the HP branded recovery. Haven't had a problem since. From what I read on various forums the basic windows driver works far better with the wifi card in this laptop then the OEM provided drivers and there is something about the way HP implements the intel wifi drivers that makes the wifi continually drop.

My wife also likes to reverse scroll with the trackpad when using laptops. This laptop does not support the microsoft precision touchpad drivers, so there is no longer an option to select the reverse scroll (Microsoft removed it at some point for... reasons). I had to install an old version of the synaptec drivers from HPs website, because the new drivers remove the synaptec specific options menus.

After these two issues were corrected, which took a considerable amount of time, my wife loves the laptop. I hope this post saves someone else the hassle.

*Edit, I should add the official HP response to the wifi issue was to go to Best Buy and buy a usb wifi adapter because they were cheap and could be had "for a song"

They have it listed for $50 more under another SKU, with a couple reviews:
https://www.newegg.com/hp-finish-...6834270764

Snippet:
" Laptop gets very hot, fan runs almost constantly unless you turn on quiet mode which throttles the CPU
- Wifi keeps disconnecting
- HP warranty status shows warranty has expired. Newegg supports says this is no big deal and they will assist if warranty is ever needed, but I don't trust this 100%. My refurb HP desktop from another big box store actually showed a 90 day warranty. HP support says they have never heard of anything like that. Not sure who is telling the truth.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend. If I could return it I would. I would look into the Huawei MateBook D 53010CRG as a similar priced alternative."

Seems really dicey. Warranty isn't even mentioned, and refurb4less has 1 star on reseller ratings https://www.resellerratings.com/s...b4less_com

Ram is soldered. Only 15-inch one is ram-upgradable.

But you can upgrade the storage.

This or the Asus Vivobook from Microcenter for $120 less (or possibly 180 if you can find an open box)?

My sister bit at 449.99 two weeks ago. She literally got it last Thursday evening so it hasn't even been a week.

I wonder if they can refund the difference?

I see a 14" Vivobook Flip with dual-core Intel Core i3 (HD 620 integrated graphics) and 4GB RAM. If you do some light gaming, this deal (Vega 8) might be worth the extra $120. Either way, 4GB is lower than I would recommend.
