If anyone has butter fingers like me and immediately smashes the screen on your brand new Z4, I've found a supplier of the OLED display (with FPS) on AliExpress, for $21... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33047877710.html

Double-check that you can add an APN, with an MVNO SIM card in. If you cancel after turning the phone on w/ a Verizon SIM in it, it can get 'partial' locked by Verizon, and you may have to go to a corporate store, like I did. I eventually had to do an OEM bootloader unlock, which probably voided the factory warranty. https://www.howtogeek.com/239798/...icial-way/

Ordered online for pickup in store. Paid $129ish out the door on my credit card through Bestbuy website. Added a line to my Verizon account. Both of my lines have paid off phones. Put one of my sim cards in the phone and tested for the day. Checked my Verizon account, a new line was added and a $40 activation fee was placed on my account. Called Verizon, told them I wanted to cancel my new line. They asked me why. Said I didn't like the phone and planned on returning it. Rep advised since it has been within 3 days of me purchasing the phone they will waive the activation fee and cancel the line. Checked account after I got off the phone and the extra line charges, the new line, and the activation fee were off of my bill.

Looks hot to me. Option to just pay $240 and be done for anyone upgrade eligible. All the reviews seem lukewarm at best, but that's based on a $480 price tag. It's a very different story at $240. Got 1, will keep it to replace my Z3 if I like it or flip it if I don't.

Seems nuts to me this isn't getting more traction. I wonder if people are realizing that VZW users can buy it outright for $240. No new line, no device payments or bill credits, no trade in, no bullshit. I guess it's good that new lines can get it for even less, but that's not the real deal as far as I'm concerned.

this review of the phone is generally positive and calls the $240 price point a "steal"

What would stop me from starting a new line, paying the $120 outright, and then canceling the service in a couple of days?

I Just used my upgrade on the Best Buy Z3 deal for $120 about a month ago. Otherwise I would def. pick this one up instead.

EDIT: Just checked my account and says I can still upgrade. Hmm might have to sell the Z3 and get this.

I was just making sure they weren't going to charge me back. Obviously I understand that Best buy won't make their commission since I'm canceling right away.

That's the point of deals like this. When you buy it outright (for either $120 on a new line of $240 on an existing line), you're immediately eligible for another upgrade. Or like 10 more in a row Smilie

Ugh. I'm tired just thinking about adding 6 more lines with 6 new phones, cancelling everything, then rinsing and repeating. Oh well. Done it before, I guess I can do it again. I can't help myself.

So bare minimum cost is $215 for new lines? $120 for the phone, one month at $55 and a $40 activation fee? Then you can just cancel and put a page plus or straight talk sim in it? Or is it locked somehow?

Much more economical if you already have a VZW plan and can just add a line for $10 (or $20 or whatever it is), or likely a pro-rated portion of that monthly cost.
