I use it all the time when mine is in tablet mode. You get used to using it, but it's not indispensable.

Notes from User Maintenance Guide:
Memory: Single Channel up to 16GB (not 32GB as stated above) <-with that price, deal breaker for me.
NVMe up to 512GB (though it's MFG limit)
There are some models available with on board NVIDIA MX series graphics.

I think you are correct as I found the details from Crucial Site as well. It has one slot which can accommodate up to 16GB of stick.
But one good news is that it has 2.5" bay which can accommodate a HDD or 2.5" SATA III SSD.

For non 2 in 1s, I have only one use case I actually use my touchscreen. When I'm slouching on the couch and the laptop is more of a stomach top. When it's that close to your face, it's awkward to use the TouchPad... You have to try and T-Rex it and its super awkward. In that case, its easier to scroll and navigate on the screen.

no touch screen is not a deal breaker as someone who actually owns a 2-in-1 with touchscreen

i hardly use it. its a nice to have in the event a situation comes up to put it to use. such as flossing it at the local starbucks in front of all those macbook users who think they are the hot ish, jk

i rather have ips screen, 8th gen processor, backlit keyboard than a touchscreen that has non-ips screen, lower cpu and no backlit. its stuff you will play more of a roll with everyday use, where touchscreen does not, unless you happen to be in the field that utilizes such feature.
