Most of the people asking about Flint and all the internet memes talking about Flint water situation with bleeding hearts fail to see one thing:

Corruption

Flint's water situation was the result of corruption... even when there were efforts to clean the water etc the entire local government there was covering each other's asses. Not a conspiracy it's in the news.

Was just reading a scathing critique of the repair efforts written by one of their local papers.

An established company with a proven track record was denied the contract for the work, despite having the lowest bid, and the work was given to a newly created company (just for this project) that would subcontract out all the work because the new company was minority owned (and the owner was an associate of some city leaders).

One subcontractor was fired because they were completing their designated work sites faster than the other subcontractors (and the work was done properly too). They were using machinery designed for the task instead of digging up the pipes by hand like the other subcontractors. Based upon contract terms, completing the work faster would result in less payment.

The local university, in an effort to help out, had it's researchers create a map that identified exactly where in the city the offending pipes would be. The contractor refused to use it and is instead locating pipes by excavating them and visually inspecting them. Even then, there are multiple instances of replacing non-problematic pipes while many people still have nonpotable water. The subcontractors get to bill for all work done, even if it's a good pipe they replace

Investigations by local reporters have been met with threats of arrest and even assault by city government leaders. By the way, the mayor just gave herself a raise and laid off firefighters.

That being said, I don't think the water that Stella is bringing to these communities would be up to US standards, they pretty much lack any reliable water source at all. This is a good deal and is even better for helping those that need it.

Glad you could use the deal Big Grin

I think they are the normal size though. Here is a link [amazon.com] to the "Original Glass Chalice", which is same size.

Oh yes I believe you are correct. I was confused by the guy in the reviews who posted the glass next to a bigger one. I believe he had the pint version so it looked bigger. Either way, for 5 bucks, it's worth it. They are heavy duty
