My understanding it is just a vitamin ( herbal supplement ) and it works no better than other vitamins ( herbal supplement ) maybe someone can chime in.

The maximum carrying capacity of vitamin C in the human body is 100-120 mg. You are going to piss/poop out most of this mega-dose and it has no benefit. Actual harm in some cases.

Eat some fruit or veg and save your money. Supplements are complete bunk for the most part. Completely unregulated market.

No better than placebo, but enjoy your elevated risk for pushing stones out of your urethra.
Rather ignorant statement. Zinc and vitamin c are effective in boosting the immune system.

there is a point of diminishing return in terms of vitamin c absorption/plasma saturation (which is around 100mg to 200mg), but up to 500mg is okay. vitamin c is water soluble and has a short half life so instead of taking +500mg once per day, it is more beneficial to split into smaller doses throughout the day. in terms of megadosing, there are some (notably linus pauling aka father of vitamin C...a brilliant mind/nobel prize winner who was obsessed with health research/benefits of megadosing vitamin C) who still believe taking multiple grams of vitamin C has anti-cancer benefits...

but i do agree. supplement/health industry is a complete mess taking advantage of uneducated consumers.
