This is specialized GPU, amazon wants $250 for this card. This is not for gaming but too cheap to ignore. Its price at launch was $5099 in May 2012.

Seismic, Image, Signal Processing, Video analytics. Doesn't have a regular video output and is essentially two 680s.

Too bad you can hack a GTX690 into a K10 but not a K10 into a GTX690...

They're not technically passively cooled, they're meant to be installed in servers chassis with gigantic fans pumping air front to back.

The card itself doesn't have a fan. nod

I wish I could justify buying one of these old beasts. I almost wanna buy one just to make wall art out of it. Like maybe a lit shadow box or something. I imagine one of them bare would resemble a GTX 690 which was pretty sexy. http://tinyimg.io/i/WjbJtqv.jpg

Gpu hardware aside, I know that you can for cheap, get one of those mining gtx 1060 cards, with no video output, install some aftermarket driver, and output it through your motherboards video output, or a spare, low end video card.
They are common on ebay. Also, some of them are sold with the video outputs soldered on, but you have to use the special drivers?

How about SETI's usage, price/computational power, versus used more powerful cards?

Correct Linus did it, it works but you may have trouble finding the correct drivers
