Finally see the specs I want at a price I like. Then I read the reviews and its a no go.
Most of the 5-start reviews are "collected as part of a contest" and weren't item specific, so if you take those out, this is a 1.2 start rating.

good price but lots of reviews say the case doesn't have enough airflow so gpu and cpu get throttled. If you know the i7 7th and 8th gen CPU's they like to thermal throttle w/o the proper cooling. I can only guess the 1080 which is pretty high wattage adds a decent amount of heat as well.

overpowered i.e. wal-mart has the bare minimum working components, cheapest ram, cheapest power supply...dont assume you are getting a deal...this cannot be overclocked and will start giving trouble soon due to cheap parts

I love my overpowered laptop. I know this might have cheaper parts, but I've gotten away with a lot of cheaper parts in my days of buying/building computers. I've had both cheaper and non cheaper parts go bad on me, if a little risk doesn't bother you, this seems to be an awesome deal!

It's not so much a component going bad that's the problem, it's the random errors that popup from cheap hardware and which take forever to ID & isolate.

Build your own machine where you get to choose the components and things will work out much better over the long haul.

I used to agree that building is the way to go, but I've built and helped people build many pc's. It can be a painful process (not always) I've had plenty of parts doa, then having to re take apart, find which part is bad, deal with sending back and getting new parts was extremely frustrating to me. But to each their own! If my i4790k I built years ago wasn't still serving me for what I need I would hop on this deal! 😊

Right there with you Hell my i5 4670K is still pretty good. No real reason to upgrade yet and it's been 6 years.

Yep, anyone buying should plan on putting spacers and longer screws on front to bump out the front panel half an inch.
