Interestingly, David Wong is a pseudonym for Jason Pargin, who is white. He explained the origin of "David Wong" on Reddit:

"It's not a very interesting story, "David Wong" was the villain in a story I had written way back in the day, so when I was signing up for my first online accounts in 1998 I started using it. Then when hate mail started coming in with a bunch of racist anti-Chinese insults, I realized I had either gone badly wrong or badly right."

David Wong [wikipedia.org] is one of my favorite authors. This is a fun read, like a weirder Snow Crash. Also check out the 'John Dies at the End' series.

That is pretty much the same way i was going to describe it. It was definitely a fun story. I went the audible route and remember it being a pretty good narration as well. Check that out if the add on option is cheap. I think i got the book during a $5 sale.

John dies is a classic in the genre. Horror and comedy go together like literary Reese's peanut butter cups. Futuristic suits features the writer's best and only female protagonist. Recommended highly enough unless you want something unfunnier.

Yep, he's also the main reason Cracked magazine isn't what it used to be.

Definitely did not appreciate his explanation but that really doesn't matter. The plot sounds interesting so I'll give it a read.
