These D'Angelico guitars are cheapo guitars sold by a company formed by VCs after purchasing the name of a defunct old guitar company.

This class of guitar was $99 after rebate last time it appeared on Slickdeals.

Here's one review of the guitar:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=126571999&postcount=14

It has very poor sound, I was one of the saps who bought at $250 and hoped for something at least decent. 2 weeks later it's already $99 after rebate? There's a reason for it. Eating the $60 shipping to return it was one of the easiest choices I've made in my life

For a beginner honestly any guitar works, and at $99 why not it's a fine deal for that. For someone who already has an acoustic that has any kind of good sound this will never get played

While your comment may be well intentioned, you are knocking a product you have not personally tried.

I DID buy this guy last time it had a SD rebate. It actually DOES play much better than the price point would imply.

The frets and fingerboard are true, and the action is relatively low. It's a solid spruce top, and for it being a 3/4 size, the tonal qualities are not bad. It does NOT play like a cheap junk guitar AT ALL. The electronics are nothing terribly fancy, but the built-in tuner works great, and the pickup doesn't introduce any unusual hiss/static, etc. It's actually very clean and neutral sounding through an amp. It comes with decent, quality strings.

The build quality is actually excellent.

25+ years guitar player here...who has actually played this thing.

I'm sure I'll get downvoted by the toolbags that are too spiteful to admit they don't actually own one, they just assume it has to be crap. It's not the 1980s any more, you don't have to spend thousands of $ to get a quality instrument, modern manufacturing has made cheap, quality products possible, and this is one of them.

I mainly got this to teach my kids how to play, and given the 3/4 size and very good playability, it's perfect for that. You are not going to get that loud, booming sound of a full auditorium-sized dreadnought, but it doesn't sound like twine on a tin can either.

Excellent deal! To be sure: when you say 'Invoice' you mean the order details that are found under 'My Orders', correct?

Very tempted but everytime I see a Slickdeals rebate everyone comments about how they are basically fake... Is that the assumption I should be working with here? That I'll end up paying the full $169?

Not sure when other people had bad experiences, but I did it this year for a $120 rebate and everything worked out fine.

My only complaint is the turnaround time but they're upfront about it. They do send you a link with updates where you can check your rebate status so it's not like you're in the dark.

I don't mind waiting. Perhaps I've only seen the embittered represented on other posts, love this deal for 69$ not so much for 169$... Guess I'll take the chance though, hope it works out. Thanks!

I've only done one so far, and it was only for $10, but it worked.

So I'll try this one.

Just follow the procedures and take screen shots/save pdsf of each step along the way.

Then contact OP if something goes wrong.

Also the second you finish the rebate submission, you can go to track rebate and see that it is in fact, in the system. I did that and saved that page also.
