There's one 2 star review on the Nikon mount about the inability to focus in low light. Can you chip in with your experience ? TIA

No issues whatsoever with my D850 for photos; I've shot in candlelit restaurants and it nails focus. That camera's video autofocus is terrible, so you can't blame any lens for that.

Thanks. Reading all the 2 and 1 star reviews on B&H and Amazon and it worries me that there's so many focus issues that signify spotty QC. Seems like a luck of the draw to get a good copy. I have owned several Sigma lenses in the past and its always been the focus issue (front or back focus) on most of them. Had been meaning to get this for my Nikon D600 but those focus issue reviews make the decision difficult.

Can use for both. Of course for crop sensor you'll get the 1.6x magnification making it an effective 56mm. Had this lens for a few years now on my 6D and absolutely love it!

I own this lens (as well as a lot of Canon L-series gear and full-frame 5DMIII bodies, just so you know where I'm coming from). Highest recommendation. In most respect this lens equals or exceeds the Canon L-series lenses I own, which is high praise indeed. In the past couple of years Sigma has gone from being a purveyor of mid-level, middling zooms to a manufacturer of prime lenses of the very highest quality. This is a wickedly sharp lens even wide open, and probably the sharpest lens I own. Even though it is semiwide, it is fast enough to render that creamy delicious bokeh you've been looking for. On the strength and quality of this lens I just bought the other two best-rated primes in this series, Sigma's 50mm f 1.4 Art and the 85mm f1.4 Art.

Glowing review: https://www.dpreview.com/products...gma_35_1p4

The range is very nice for a "walkabout"/street photography lens, and the fast aperture/bokeh allows you to get subject separation from busy backgrounds despite the wide angle.

My only potentially negative comment about this lens is that it substantially-sized and heavy. If you're familiar with pro gear and seeking pro results, none of this should come as any surprise.
